Ruppert Reinstadler and his agency, Group Benefits Design (GBD) merged with Coordinated Resources Group in 2007. He is currently an owner/principal/benefit consultant with CRG.
Ruppert earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in finance from Rutgers University in 1973.
He maintains the following insurance industry professional designations: Registered Health Underwriter (RHU), Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU).
Ruppert began his insurance career in 1977 when he joined the group department of Transamerica Occidental Life as Assistant Regional Group Manager. In 1981 he became the Regional Group Manager for Central Life Assurance Company’s Portland operation. In 1986 he stepped away from the carrier life and started his own agency along with two other partners in order to better serve his clients.
“Active participation in our industry’s future has always been important to me. Anyone that earns their living in the insurance field owes it to themselves and their associates to get involved.” Ruppert is twice a past president of the Oregon Association of Health Underwriters (OAHU). He was legislative chairman for OAHU for 3 years and is still an active member of that committee that follows and influences legislation on a state level. In the early part of his career, Ruppert also served as Legislative/Health Chairman liaison for the Oregon Life Underwriters Association for three years when Health Underwriters group was in its infancy. He has served on agent advisory committees for Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon, PACC Health Plans, and Pacific Health and Life, Kaiser, Lifewise, HealthNet and United Healthcare. He has earned several industry recognition awards for his hard work and dedication to the industry.
At the end of the insurance work day, Ruppert puts on another hat and is highly involved with the Challenge Foundation – a non-profit, family foundation helping the school choice movement in the US. He’s passionate about the school choice movement and the fact that all kids should have a choice when it comes to their education. He’s also a firm believer in teaching kids “the basics” that they don’t get these days. “We need our children better prepared for their place in society and the world. We have fallen behind in that regard because the public school system has had no competition. Competition breeds innovation and creativity. We need that so our kids can grow up to be good American citizens and hard-working, educated, productive members of society”.
Ruppert spends his leisure time serving on the Worship Team at his church, as a committee member for YMCA’s Camp Collins, fly-fishing, golfing and playing his guitar with a few friends in a local band. He is also passionate about photography and traveling – which go hand-in-hand.
